About This Trail

Walk a continuous 2-mile basalt ridgeline rising 600 feet above the Quinnipiac Valley along the Mattabesett Trail. The western cliff edge delivers some of Connecticut’s finest ridge walking with long views over Meriden and the surrounding traprock landscape.

Getting There

From Meriden, take Route 66 east 1.5 miles past Route 15. The trailhead parking pulloff is on the westbound side of Route 66, near Guida's restaurant. The trail ascends to the Mount Higby ridge.
