About This Trail

A short but steep 1.2-mile round-trip climb from Brandon Gap to the Great Cliff, a sheer rock face with 180-degree unobstructed views over the gap and Green Mountain terrain. The cliffs are closed until August 1 each year to protect nesting peregrine falcons.

Getting There

From Rochester, take Route 100 south to Route 73 west. Drive 8.8 miles to the top of Brandon Gap. Trailhead parking is on the east side of the road. Hike north on the Long Trail to the Great Cliff spur.
