About This Trail

Climbing to a 5,721-foot summit visible from downtown Asheville, this 3-mile round trip ascends through mountain laurel thickets and hardwood stands along the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 407.6. A wooden observation deck at the top offers far-flung views in every direction, framed by the park’s 339-foot TV transmission tower.

Getting There

From Asheville, take the Blue Ridge Parkway south to milepost 407.6. Turn into the Mount Pisgah parking area on the west side. The summit trail starts from this free parking lot.
