About This Trail
The most direct western route to Mount Washington’s 6,288-foot summit, ascending steeply through a relentless scramble up granite slabs past Gem Pool to emerge at the AMC Lakes of the Clouds Hut. Above treeline at 2.8 miles, hikers face full alpine exposure with notorious weather on the Northeast’s highest peak.
