About This Trail

At 18 miles round trip, this is the longest day hike to any of New Hampshire’s 48 4,000-footers, following old railroad grades deep into the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The officially trail-less summit at 4,025 feet is reached via a well-worn herd path up a steep slide, rewarding with isolation if not views.
