About This Trail

A 4.0-mile route along the Ohio River bluffs offering glimpses of the river and Twelve Mile Island through steep hardwood forest. The trail traverses some of the most challenging terrain in the park’s 13-mile trail system, with sustained climbs along the bluff edge.

Getting There

From I-65, take SR-62 east through Charlestown to Charlestown State Park at 3000 State Park Drive. The Rugged Trail (Trail 5) starts from the main trail system near the picnic area.
