About This Trail

Traversing the knobs of southern Jefferson County in the largest municipal urban forest in the United States, this 12.6-mile trail gains over 3,000 feet total along its ridgeline route. Named for the siltstone capping the knobs, it offers deer and wild turkey sightings just 15 miles from downtown Louisville.

Getting There

From I-265 in Louisville, take the Fairdale-National Turnpike exit south. Turn right onto Fairdale Road, then right on Manslick Road and left on Mitchell Hill Road. The Welcome Center is 2 miles ahead.
