About This Trail

A 2.2-mile flat wildlife-focused trail through the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, one of the Upper Peninsula’s premier birding destinations spanning 95,000 acres of managed wetlands. The easy route crosses open marsh and wetland transition zones with opportunities to spot sandhill cranes, loons, trumpeter swans, and bald eagles. Over 12 miles of trails available in the refuge.

Getting There

From Seney, take M-77 south for 5 miles to the Refuge Entrance Road. Turn right (west) and continue 1 mile to the Seney National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, where the Marshland Trail begins.
