About This Trail
A short 1-mile sandy walk to the Log Slide, a former logging chute where timber was once sent 300 feet down a steep sand bank to Lake Superior. The overlook provides sweeping views of the Grand Sable Dunes, Au Sable Light Station, and the Lake Superior coastline. One of the best panoramic viewpoints in Pictured Rocks.
