About This Trail

A 7.6-mile round-trip on the Appalachian Trail to the southernmost glacial lake on the AT, a 44-acre pond created by the Wisconsin Glacier. Sunfish Pond is a National Natural Landmark and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of New Jersey. The rocky Kittatinny Ridge terrain demands sturdy footwear.

Getting There

From I-80 westbound, take the last New Jersey exit before the Delaware Water Gap. Park at the Dunnfield Creek Natural Area lot. Cross the bridge and follow the Appalachian Trail (white blazes) north.
