About This Trail
This easy 1.7-mile loop circles Lake Surprise in Watchung Reservation, passing through mature forest with views of the lake and a small waterfall along the way. With just 36 feet of elevation gain, it suits families and casual walkers. A longer 2.9-mile option via the Purple and White trails adds rolling terrain and deeper woodland.
