About This Trail

An easy 1.8-mile round-trip along Taughannock Creek to the base of a 215-foot single-drop waterfall, the tallest east of the Mississippi and 30 feet higher than Niagara. The wide, mostly flat path passes through a dramatic shale gorge to a natural amphitheater. A 20-foot lower cascade appears along the way.

Getting There

From Ithaca, drive north 9.5 miles on NY-89 along the west shore of Cayuga Lake. The Gorge Trail parking lot is at 1738 NY-89, Trumansburg, on the upland side of the road.
