About This Trail
An 8-mile highlands traverse along erosion-resistant puddingstone ridges with exposed overlooks, stunted pitch pines, and views of the NYC skyline on clear days. The trail in Abram S. Hewitt State Forest features colorful bedrock and rock scrambles. Surprise Lake adds a scenic water feature to the loop.
