About This Trail

A steep climb through mossy ledges and stone staircases leads to the 681-foot summit of Acadia Mountain, where hikers are rewarded with striking views of Somes Sound, offshore islands, and the Cranberry Isles. The descent passes Man O’ War Brook, a small waterfall that once supplied freshwater to 18th-century sailing ships. A 2.5-mile loop can be made via the Man O’ War Brook Trail.
