About This Trail

A short Acadia climb to a fire tower atop Beech Mountain with western views over Long Pond, Echo Lake, and Somes Sound. The trail offers a quieter side of Acadia on the island’s western half, with sunset views stretching over Bass Harbor and the outer islands.

Getting There

From Southwest Harbor, take Route 102 north to the Beech Mountain parking lot on the right side of the road. Alternatively, take the Beech Hill Road turnoff from Route 102 and follow it to the end. The trail ascends to a fire tower with panoramic views.
