About This Trail

A 2.6-mile wooded loop climbing to overlooks on Alligator Hill with views of Glen Lake, Lake Michigan, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The trail threads through beech-maple forest with moderate elevation changes and quieter conditions than the park’s lakefront trails. Two spur trails lead to additional viewpoints.

Getting There

From Empire, take M-109 north about half a mile past the Dune Climb parking lot, then turn right onto Day Farm Road. After half a mile, turn left onto Stocking Road. The Alligator Hill trailhead parking is shortly ahead on the right.
