About This Trail

A 3.5-mile round-trip trek from the famous Dune Climb across open sand to the Lake Michigan shore, marked by blue-tipped posts. The initial 150-foot sandy ascent is just the beginning as the trail continues 1.9 miles over exposed dunes with no shade or water. Bring plenty of water and expect a physically demanding sand hike.
