About This Trail

Located in Edisto Beach State Park within the ACE Basin, this trail leads to the Alexander Dallas Bache Monument used for 19th-century coastal navigation mapping. A short walk through maritime forest and salt marsh on Edisto Island combines coastal scenery with early American surveying history.

Getting There

From Beaufort, SC, take US-21 south toward Hunting Island. Continue past the town of Frogmore toward the coast. The Bache Monument Trail is accessible from the Hunting Island area via US-21 in Colleton County.
