About This Trail

This 2.2-mile loop circles a beaver marsh pond at Elk Neck State Park, passing through forest, along the marsh edge, and briefly onto a Chesapeake Bay beach before returning through the woods. An active beaver lodge sits in the middle of the marsh, and the trail is alive with frog and bird calls. Best visited in spring or fall to avoid marshy-area insects.
