About This Trail

A 4.3-mile moderate loop through wooded terrain alongside Big Elk Creek, mixing gravel roads with forested paths on the Elk Neck Peninsula. The rolling route gains 331 feet and is popular for birding and horseback riding in the Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area.

Getting There

From Elkton, MD, take Route 213 south toward Chesapeake City. Turn west onto Big Elk Chapel Road, then continue to the Big Elk Creek Natural Area. The trailhead parking is along Old Baltimore Pike near the creek crossing.
