About This Trail

A 3-mile moderately difficult trail in Elk Neck State Park featuring Chesapeake Bay views, a rocky shoreline walk, and impressive white clay cliffs rising above the water. With 574 feet of elevation gain, the route switchbacks between the river and bluffs where bald eagles soar.

Getting There

From North East, take MD 272 south approximately 8 miles to Elk Neck State Park. Park at the North East Beach lot and follow signs to the White Banks Trail from the park headquarters area.
