About This Trail

A 2.3-mile trail along the Wild and Scenic Black River connecting five major waterfalls, including 45-foot Rainbow Falls and 34-foot Gorge Falls, as the river drops over 200 feet in its final two miles to Lake Superior. Stairways and overlook platforms provide access to each cascade. A segment of the North Country Trail parallels the route.

Getting There

From Bessemer, take County Road 513 north approximately 15 miles to Black River Harbor. The Gorge Falls trailhead parking lot is marked along CR 513, part of the Black River National Scenic Byway.
