About This Trail
This 8.5-mile ridge traverse is one of Michigan’s most scenic hikes, skirting rocky bluffs with sweeping views of Lake of the Clouds and the Upper Carp River Valley. The trail passes through 59,000-acre Porcupine Mountains Wilderness, the largest old-growth hardwood forest between the Rockies and Adirondacks. Three trailhead access points allow shorter segments.
