About This Trail

A 7.3-mile moderate Appalachian Trail hike along South Mountain’s ridge to open cliff-top overlooks rising 1,200 feet above the Cumberland Valley. Many consider Black Rock’s westward views even more impressive than nearby Annapolis Rock, making the extra mile well worthwhile.
