About This Trail

A quick 1-mile circuit off Skyline Drive near milepost 85, this hike follows the Appalachian Trail to a massive talus slope of jumbled boulders at 3,092 feet. Scrambling atop Blackrock rewards hikers with sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley and Massanutten Mountain.

Getting There

From Waynesboro, enter Shenandoah National Park at Rockfish Gap and drive north on Skyline Drive to the Blackrock Parking Area at mile marker 84.8. The trailhead is at the west side of the lot.
