About This Trail

Meandering along the Blackwater River through Canaan Valley Resort State Park, this easy 0.8-mile walk passes multiple wetland viewpoints with just 39 feet of elevation gain. Lucky visitors may spot beavers swimming near their dam in this northernmost park trail, best enjoyed April through October.

Getting There

From Davis, turn onto Route 29 (Blackwater Falls Road) and continue 1.4 miles. Turn left onto Canyon Point Road and park at the large lot. Trails depart from the state park visitor area.
