About This Trail
Crossing a wooden bridge directly over the 35-foot Elakala Falls, this half-mile trail follows Shays Run as it plunges into Blackwater Canyon. Elakala is the first of four waterfalls along the run, and hikers can extend to Balanced Rock for a scenic 2.8-mile loop through spruce forest.
