About This Trail

Elevated six feet above the floodplain, this 2.4-mile boardwalk meanders through the largest remaining old-growth bottomland hardwood forest in the eastern United States. Bald cypress, tupelo, and six national champion trees line the route past Weston Lake, with the Congaree River flooding the forest roughly ten times per year.
