About This Trail

A 5-mile loop through the wooded glacial hills and wetlands at the heart of the 4,947-acre Brighton Recreation Area in southeast Michigan. The trail features steady climbs over moraine ridges, technical root-and-rock sections, and filtered views of inland lakes. Popular with hikers and mountain bikers, especially during fall color season.

Getting There

From Ann Arbor, take US-23 north to Exit 54B for M-36 west. Follow M-36 for 5 miles, turn right on Chilson Road, continue 3.75 miles, and turn right at the Bishop Lake Road entrance to Brighton Recreation Area.
