About This Trail

A 5.8-mile rolling route through wooded ridges and open shoreline points in Holly Recreation Area, circling sections of Heron Lake and passing through mixed oak-hickory forest. Moderate terrain with some short steep pitches on glacial hills. A solid intermediate trail in southeast Michigan’s recreation corridor between Brighton and Pontiac.

Getting There

From Pontiac, take I-75 north to Exit 101 and go east on Grange Hall Road for 1 mile to McGinnis Road. Turn north on McGinnis Road to the Holly Recreation Area entrance. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry.
