About This Trail

Southern Michigan’s longest hiking trail at 36 miles, connecting Waterloo State Recreation Area and Pinckney Recreation Area through rolling moraine ridgelines, oak-hickory forests, and views of 10 inland lakes. Designed for 3-4 day thru-hikes with six campgrounds along the route including rustic backpack-only sites and cabin rentals. A quintessential southeast Michigan long-distance trek.

Getting There

From Pinckney, take M-52 east on North Territorial Road about 5 miles. Turn left onto Dexter Townhall Road and continue 0.5 miles to the eastern trailhead parking.
