About This Trail
A short 1.1-mile climb to the top of Castle Rock, an ancient sea stack rising 195 feet above the waterline near St. Ignace. Known historically as Pontiac’s Lookout by the Ojibwa, the summit offers panoramic views extending 20 miles across Mackinac Island, Lake Huron, and the Straits of Mackinac. A quick but rewarding ascent via stairs and rocky path.
