About This Trail

A steep 3.6-mile climb up Champlain Mountain’s exposed granite north ridge in Acadia National Park, with dramatic coastal panoramas over Frenchman Bay and the Atlantic. The route features iron rungs and open ledge scrambles similar to the famous Precipice Trail, offering some of Acadia’s most exhilarating above-treeline coastal views.

Getting There

From Bar Harbor, enter Acadia National Park and follow the Park Loop Road. The Champlain North Ridge Trail starts near the Precipice Trailhead parking area on the Park Loop Road.
