About This Trail

The most strenuous loop in Catoctin Mountain Park at 3.8 miles with nearly 900 feet of climbing to two dramatic rock formations. Wolf Rock features deep crevices to explore, while Chimney Rock offers sweeping overlooks from the ridgeline. Free admission to the park.

Getting There

From Thurmont, take MD-77 west approximately 3.5 miles and turn right onto Park Central Road. Park at the Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center parking lot to access the Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock Loop.
