About This Trail

A 1.2-mile moderate hike in Chestnut Ridge Park near Buffalo leading to a 30-foot waterfall with a natural gas seep at its base that sustains a small flame nearly year-round. The grotto where the flame flickers behind the cascade is one of the most unusual natural features in New York. Bring a lighter in case it needs re-lighting.
