About This Trail
An 8.7-mile paved trail along the Sandy Hook peninsula in Gateway National Recreation Area, passing the oldest working lighthouse in the United States, built in 1764. The flat, ADA-accessible path runs alongside beaches, historic Fort Hancock batteries, and maritime forest. Manhattan skyline views frame the bay to the north.
