About This Trail

A river-edge trail running beneath the towering Palisades cliffs along the Hudson River, with dramatic views of the columnar diabase geology. The relatively flat path offers a different perspective on the cliffs compared to the cliff-top routes above. Watch for bald eagles soaring along the river corridor.

Getting There

From the George Washington Bridge, take the Palisades Interstate Parkway north. Exit at the Englewood Boat Basin or Alpine Boat Basin. The Shore Trail runs along the Hudson River beneath the Palisades cliffs.
