Eyes On Wildlife Trail
Trail through the woods near Cooper Creek
The loop begins across the road from the parking lot of the Cooper Creek Recreation Area.
As a fair warning, the trail has a history of being poorly marked, and visitors should call Camp Frank D. Merrill in Dahlonega (706-864-3367) to check the schedule of the Army's activity in the area before planning the trip, as regular training exercises are conducted there that would undoubtedly disturb the peace of the hike.
The trail does, however, offer beautiful views year-round, and animal tracks can often be seen near the stream.
Length: 1.6 miles
Difficulty: 3
