About This Trail

Nestled between Back Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, this trail network covers 15.3 miles of dune, marsh, and maritime forest habitat accessible only by foot, bike, or boat. Six miles of pristine undeveloped Atlantic beach and bayside observation points await those who make the trek.

Getting There

From Virginia Beach, take General Booth Boulevard south to Princess Anne Road, then to Sandbridge Road. Continue to the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge entrance. False Cape is accessible only by foot, bike, or boat beyond Back Bay.
