About This Trail
This wide, flat gravel path parallels Wissahickon Creek for 5 miles through Philadelphia’s largest urban gorge park, earning its name from an 1920s ban on automobile traffic. Historic stone bridges, the Valley Green Inn, and WPA-era structures line the route. The 25-foot-wide surface with minimal grade makes this one of the most accessible nature walks in any major American city.
