About This Trail

A 2-mile trail through the 1,495-acre Fort Hill Preserve, which shelters one of Ohio’s largest contiguous old-growth forests and a 2,000-year-old Hopewell hilltop earthwork enclosure. The gorge route descends past cliff edges into a deep ravine harboring rare plants, with the preserve officially inducted into the Old Growth Forest Network.

Getting There

From Hillsboro, take SR-41 south approximately 12 miles through the village of Cynthiana to Fort Hill Road. The preserve is at 13614 Fort Hill Road with well-signed parking.
