About This Trail

A 7.6-mile segment of the 38.6-mile Grafton Loop Trail, a backcountry route through the Mahoosuc Mountains requiring multi-day preparation and proper gear. This eastern section traverses notch-and-ridge landscapes with significant elevation changes through dense spruce-fir forest, connecting to the Appalachian Trail near Old Speck Mountain.

Getting There

From Newry, take ME-26 north 4.7 miles from the Route 2 junction. Turn right into the gravel parking area at the southern trailhead for the Grafton Loop Trail, just north of Eddy Road.
