About This Trail
A classic 8.2-mile route ascending 3.2 miles to Pamola Peak before crossing the famous Knife Edge, a 1.1-mile razor-thin glacial arete with sheer drop-offs on both sides leading to Baxter Peak at 5,267 feet. The exposed ridge scramble is not recommended for those with a fear of heights and is one of the most dramatic alpine traverses in the eastern United States.
