About This Trail

A 12-mile backcountry loop through the 8,663-acre Hickory Creek Wilderness, one of only two federally designated wilderness areas in Pennsylvania. The unblazed route relies on map-and-compass navigation across stream crossings, long plateau climbs, and dense hardwood forest. True wilderness solitude in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest, with no maintained bridges or facilities.
