About This Trail
This segment of the 4,600-mile North Country National Scenic Trail passes through Cook Forest State Park’s Forest Cathedral, a National Natural Landmark containing the finest old-growth white pine stand in the northeastern United States. Some hemlocks here exceed 145 feet and white pines approach 200 feet tall and 375 years old. The Clarion River crossing and surrounding old-growth groves make this one of the trail’s premier Pennsylvania sections.
