About This Trail

Paralleling Hurricane Creek for half a mile before ascending to 3,050-foot Hurricane Knob, this 1.1-mile loop crosses two wooden bridges in Jefferson National Forest. Easy Appalachian Trail access lies within a half mile, making it a convenient warm-up hike near Sugar Grove, Virginia.

Getting There

From Marion, take I-81 Exit 45 and follow VA-16 south. Continue to Hurricane Campground in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest; the nature trail begins at the campground.
