About This Trail

A 6.8-mile section of the 47-mile Iron Ore Heritage Trail, a National Recreation Trail tracing the Marquette Iron Range’s mining history with interpretive signage, artwork, and connections to museums. The easy paved multi-use corridor passes mining shafts, forges, and historical structures between Negaunee and Ishpeming. Accessible for all abilities year-round.

Getting There

From downtown Negaunee, head to the west end of Main Street to reach the Jackson Mine Park trailhead. The Iron Ore Heritage Trail runs 12 miles east to Marquette from here.
