About This Trail
This well-marked, white-blazed loop hugs the wooded shoreline of North Carolina’s largest man-made lake, with the water rarely more than a stone’s throw away for the first four miles. Half-mile distance markers and a shortcut option via the Short Turn Trail make it easy to customize the hike, and several lakeside clearings invite a rest or a swim.
