About This Trail
New England’s longest rail trail at 94 miles, connecting 18 towns from St. Johnsbury on the Connecticut River to Swanton near Lake Champlain. The crushed-stone surface follows gentle grades never exceeding 3 percent through the spine of the Green Mountains, open year-round for non-motorized use.
