About This Trail

Purple-blazed 1.75-mile loop winding through the cabin area of Bear Creek Lake State Park in Cumberland State Forest. Interpretive features highlight local plant life including briars, burls, and pollinators. Connects to the 16-mile Willis River Trail for longer backcountry excursions through Virginia’s Piedmont woodlands.

Getting There

From Farmville, take VA-45 south toward Cumberland. Follow signs to Cumberland State Forest at Oak Hill Road. Park near the State Forest Office; the Lost Barr Loop begins in the field by the gate.
